— I am sitting at home in a quarantine with my family and all of us have Covid.
What an end to 2020!
Today is a perfect day to publish this project of mine which focuses on my experience during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
When I think about my feelings, hardships and emotions during this time period, my time slowed down and after some struggle I came to a realisation of purpose in my life and ability to focus on what is important.
I had a wonderful experience in the summer with my closest friends organising a symposium ending with a tribal performance in the beautiful countryside of Czech Republic. I got accepted to the art academy. I learnt how to identify plants and started a food foraging hobby.
Actually, my transformation during Covid 19 wasn’t that negative, atleast in an emotional sense – I felt calmer and more productive. I had more TIME to realise what am I doing with my life.
So when I thought about making an installation inspired by this time and what I wanted it to represent, plants and focus came to mind. A kind of pressure release. Sense for detail. Centering my focus more locally.
“SMALL BUT BIG…”
So I just started collecting plants from my neighbourhood and taking photo walks, scanning my direct enviroment.
