A digital space to showcase and share creative projects, written ideas and unconventional conversations.
It is the digital home of an ever-growing community of contributors who share their work, collaborate and participate in the livelihood of our initiatives.
We think of LateMode as the antidote to an information-overloaded world. Instead of merely receiving impulses, here at LateMode, we try to give impulses that inspire to create original thought in others.
This website is a platform to communicate, reflect and create through image, text and sound.
In addition to being a space for the collective, LateMode.eu is also a space for the individual opinions of members and their followers to generate dialogue and discussion.
What makes LateMode.eu a different platform?
Our work departs from the concept of liquidity, from our subjective experiences as people part of a society that moved from needs to desires, from lasting to transient.
In this fluidness, we find creative inspiration.
The project was created by a small group of friends who on rainy nights in Amsterdam got together to think, write and create. We hope that through photography, films, essays and applied arts we could engage different forms of cultural production and knowledge.
Our manifesto is pretty straightforward: creativity belongs to anyone, it is central to our living and so should be brought forward.
Let’s share it.

MARTA PAGLIUCA PELACANI - Podcast host
(she/her) is an Amsterdam based storyteller busy with writing, editing and curating.

ALIDA AHISHAKIYE
AKIYE I would define myself as a human, a seeker and a music producer. A human with all the wonder, brokeness and ordinariness this entails. A seeker of beauty, truth, justice and love, in all its forms and struggles. A producer because I will ever be grateful for the oxygen music brings me and I hope to ripple that effect.
GIOVANNA ALIPARDI
She grew up in a small village in the North of Italy, but at least close to Venice...
She learned the basics of life thanks to Dawson’s Creek, Harry Potter, and the Beatles’ music.
After studying classics and linguistics in Venice, she moved to Amsterdam to deepen her interests in sociolinguistics and social interactions.
She has a passion for the study of interpersonal, group, and institutional violence, and she darkly keeps wondering why serial killers seem to be disappeared (she’s interested in the socio-historical motives, to be fair).
Her main goal is being part of what she calls “the equalizing revolution.”
She’s still stuck in the dinosaurs’ era, so if you want to contact her this is her email address: giovanna.aliprandi.ga@gmail.com

EMILIA LIXI
Trying to make sense. Often getting caught in the spiral of “nothing makes sense, why bothering”
Hi, I never like having to describe myself, but I was asked to, so:I am a Sociology graduate, raised in sunny Sardinia, but moved to Amsterdam for my studies and some fresh air. Currently living in London, where I am studying visual methods of research and ethnographic filmmaking. Passionate about research, feminism, procrastinator due to my insecurities and my paralysis by analysis, also trying to unleash my “creativity” but fearing that it all makes no sense and I am just very privileged. Think I pushed it too far and now it’s the end for my brain after smoking two puffs from a joint. Oh well. Don’t I sound like a catch?

MASHA KOVTUN
From Ukraine. Based in Prague, studying UMPRUM painting studio of Jiří Černický and Michal Novotný. Working with different materials and medias.
“I mostly work with installations in space and objects in the form of scenography. Lately I have been interested in combining my work with performance and video. The subject of my long term interest is emotionality and a return to sensitivity and sincerity. I’m creating a space about selftherapy from my generation, from a positive outlook and hope for the future with fairy tale, surrealistic and mystical elements.”

SOFIE TOBLASHOVA
A Czech artist, studying UMPRUM Academy of Arts Architecture and Design in Prague since 2016.
Working mostly with media of painting, text and video. Facing the future with a package of history. Sometimes cries for no reason. On one hand opening questions of self-awareness, feminity and intimacy, slightly balancing between fiction and biography and on the other dealing with the position of a contemporary painter.

JOÃO VICENTE
“João Vicente: Me? A walking, but functional, contradiction of a human. A collision of thoughts. Consciously trying to re-arrange my atoms into better myself. Unravelling the world through the senses and finding expression through art. I want to share what I find in myself via photography, film, ceramics and writing.”

MAJA
Currently based somewhere in germany, used to hang around in madrid and amsterdam, soon to be in bologna. usually always has a strong opinion but is too scared to voice it - working on that. overall pretty lost in life, but finding solace in attempting to be creative. always thought she could only hang out with artsy people, not be one herself, but recently discovered the internalised misogyny in this assumption and is now trying to make some changes. she continues to be mystified by the beauty of words and her rediscovery of the love surrounding her wherever she moves in this world.
